Nike brings back the Air Max 1 in its original color but this time with the Ultra Flyknit finish. The iconic silhouette launched in 1987 and characterized by being the first running shoe with a visible “Air-sole” in the heel, returns to the market with an Ultra sole and Flyknit technology, adding more lightness to its reliable cushioning.
Nike’s Flyknit technology was unveiled in early 2011 but it wasn’t until February 2012 where it came to live iwith the release of the Flyknit Racer. Distinguished by its lightness and breathability, the Flyknit technology reduces waste by about 60% on average compared to cut and sew footwear. Featuring the textile with Flywire support and synthetic overlays , the new Air Max 1 OG will become the lightest Air Max 1 ever made.
Earlier this year Nike introduced the Flyknit technology on some of their classic silhouettes such as the Air Force 1 and the Air Presto. It was just a matter of time to have Nike including this enhancement on the Air Max 1. Besides the OG colorway or “varsity red” , the brand of the swoosh will introduce this model in “Black / Grey / White” and “Black / Racer Blue” among others colorways. The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit will be available in sivasdescalzo between the end of July and begining of August.
