About
SOLEXCHANGE has been covering sneaker culture, streetwear releases, and the resale market that orbits both since 2016. We write for the person who is up at 9:55 a.m. waiting on a SNKRS drop, the reseller tracking the gap between retail and StockX, and the casual collector who just wants to know whether the new Air Jordan is worth the line. We are not a marketplace; we do not sell shoes. We report on the people and products shaping the category.
What we cover
Our beat splits roughly into four areas: release news (when shoes are dropping, where to find them, and at what price); resale and marketplace activity (what pairs are appreciating, what’s getting flipped at a loss, and where retail prices are heading); brand and collaboration coverage (everything from Nike’s quarterly earnings to a single Comme des Garçons x Dunk lookbook); and culture (the athletes, designers, photographers, and resellers who give the category its texture). When we write about a product, we say plainly whether we have hands-on time with it or are reporting from official imagery; when we cite resale prices, we say where the data came from and when it was pulled.
How we work
Articles are written and edited by our editorial team in the United States. We take press releases as starting points, not finished stories: every “release news” post is fact-checked against the brand’s own channels before it goes live. We do not accept paid placements disguised as editorial. We do run advertising (Google AdSense and direct sponsorships) and we use affiliate links to several retailers; both are disclosed where they appear. Sponsored content, when it exists, is clearly labeled as such at the top of the post.
Corrections matter to us. If we get a release date, retail price, or attribution wrong, we update the article and add a note at the bottom explaining what changed and when. If you spot something, write to editor@thesolexchange.com and we will look at it the same day.
Who reads us
The audience is primarily 18–44, split roughly evenly between the United States and a long tail of international readers in the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Australia, Germany, and the Philippines. Our readers tend to be hands-on participants in the category: they are running entries on SNKRS, watching resale platforms, and buying directly from brand sites and select retail accounts. We try to write for someone who already knows the basics rather than starting every article with definitions.
