Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
SOLEXCHANGE (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at https://thesolexchange.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use that information, who we share it with, and what choices you have about it. We do not sell personal information. If you have questions after reading this, write to us at editor@thesolexchange.com.
Information we collect
We collect three categories of personal data. The first is data you give us directly, such as your name and email address when you submit our contact form or subscribe to a newsletter. The second is technical data your browser sends automatically when it requests a page from our server: your IP address, user agent string, referring URL, the page you requested, and the timestamp of the request. The third category is data collected through cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies as you browse the Site, which is described in the next section.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use cookies to remember preferences (for example, whether you have dismissed our newsletter prompt) and to measure how our content is performing. Some of these cookies are first-party (set by thesolexchange.com itself) and some are set by third-party providers we have chosen to work with.
We use Google Analytics to understand which articles are read, how long visitors stay, and what countries our audience is in. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser that allow Google to recognize you across visits. You can review Google’s policies at https://policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of Google Analytics tracking at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We participate in the Google AdSense advertising program. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our Site. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our Site and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. We may also work with additional ad networks; any such network that places cookies on your device is required to disclose its own cookie practices to you.
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies entirely or to be warned before a cookie is set. Refer to your browser’s documentation for instructions. Disabling cookies may degrade some features of the Site (for example, you may see the newsletter prompt on every visit), but it will not prevent you from reading any article.
How we use information
We use the information described above to operate and improve the Site, deliver content you request, respond to messages you send us, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and serve advertising. We do not use any of this information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Who we share information with
We share information only with: (a) service providers we hire to operate the Site, including our web host, our email delivery provider, our analytics provider (Google), and our advertising partners (Google AdSense and any network identified in our ads.txt file); (b) any party you explicitly direct us to share with; and (c) law enforcement or other authorities when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect our rights or the safety of users.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to certain uses of it, or restrict how we process it. To exercise any of these rights, email editor@thesolexchange.com from the address associated with your account and tell us what you want to do. We respond to verified requests within thirty days. If we cannot verify the request, we will tell you why and ask for additional information.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for an adult audience and is not directed to children under the age of thirteen. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this Privacy Policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced in a banner on the homepage for at least thirty days.
